From what you are saying, please be aware with clic systems on wood. Some suppliers will sell a cheap end product that does not have a good tight fitting system, make sure they have a reconized name to the system such as uniclic system like Quickstep Laminate provide.
From our experiences T &...
Could be either, the expansion gap round the edge will need inspecting, by either removing the scotia or skirting. The board you have purchased is a very stable board so the chance of movement is very minimal.
If you are going to contact someone to have a look i would recommend a floor layer...
Nosing is the way, you can find MDF and Solid wood nosings, ideally best to purchase the nosing before laying the final plank of laminate or wood.
You may be restricted on colour selections but they are definetly out there.
Hi, If you are looking at wood and laminate flooring, they can all be used but Solid Wood floors will have some added costs with the preparation of the concrete.
For cost Engineered, Multiply or laminate floors.
Also consider the finish of the flooring, if it is Lacquered or Oiled and what quality products they are finishing with. Good quality finishes can add years of life to any flooring.
Anyone selling these products should be able to give these details.
Good Luck
I agree with AronSearle, there a couple of different types of Bamboo. Always check with the manafactuer, best to have that peace of mind and ask for something in writing
I feel that you are easily within reason for what you want and especially under your budget. For Solid wood I would make sure you get a good length spec product generally 300 - 1500mm lengths is good anything better than that is a bonus. Engineered will be a mixture of full length or random...
I agree with crazydaze, Parquet is generally solid so the guidelines with the DPM he mentioned are essential. Some manafactuers are now bringing out Engineered Parquet Clic flooring than can be installed on underlay so very simple and easy for yourself.
The best look would to keep it flowing all the way through you will then not have no raised thresholds.
The only consideration is if you have an issue in one area then you may have to pull it all up, if you have a threshold you can then just attend to the one room.
I would go without the...
As recommended by crazy-daze defiantly no floating floor on solid wood unless manufacturer will guarantee (which is vary rare).
Engineered or multiply is the best way especially with the size of the room these boards will be more stable.
I would go with the door bar just as a safety measure.
I agree with the person before, self adhesive bars are very easy to find that will have no centre point so will sit nice and flat. Also aliminium or brass cover plates that might need screws could be another option. THese can be found at any carpet or flooring shop
The carpet will give you the warmth without a doubt, but the wood will live a lot longer, it will never be as warm as a carpet but never as cold as a tile.
Also remember with wood it can always be repaired, carpets once stained or ripped needs replacing completley.
Maybe consider...
