    Fitting a sink into a 500mm Unit.

Hi all, I think i may already know the answer to this, but looking for some thoughts or feedback, We're having a kitchen refresh, by changing out the worktops and replacing the sink unit. We've found a sink that we like, and the details say minimum unit size 600mm. But the unit where...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

New Non Return Valve (NRV) turned up yesterday, in a pack of 3. Fitted the new part and its a little smaller where the pipe attaches, but it does the job. I added a little PTFE tape, and secured the pipe in place. And all seems well. Many thanks Ian. To summarise the issue I had...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

@ianmcd A huge thanks to you, got your guidance on this. With your help I've isolated the problem down, and through elimination have proved it to be a problem with the NRV. So I have one on order, this morning as the pot and exit pipe was full of water, I removed the NRV with the exit pipe...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

Will see what I can pull together. I've been caught out with the pump going off once, with the exit pipe removed. I now have issues with the pump, and an angry missus. (y)

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

Been into the attic, and no clear kinks or bends. It pumped whilst I was up there and I could see the water moving along the pipe, upto the point where it joins onto a plastic PVC pipe. I've tried to create a high point where it initially goes up and into the attic, but not hugely successful...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

So I topped it up with water, and in 22 minutes its pumped 5 times. The water pressure on the boiler is fine, heating works, hot water works. Pump still activates, even when the hot water is running. Is it worth getting a new Non return valve as a precaution? In case its back filling...

I'm now sat here thinking, that's so bloody obvious, why didn't I think of that! :(:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

I've removed and cleaned the non return valve this morning. The pump was going last night, so the exit pipe was full of water. I've rerouted the piping, to make it a straighter run upwards, will this be of any benefit? I'm guessing that the exit pipe fills itself with water, and then over...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

Cheers Ian, thanks. Will give it a clear out in the morning. I can hear it buzzing away now. Cheers for being so helpful. I’ll let you know how it goes. The hose in the second pic is just abit loose, no kink or twists in it. Is it worth making it a straight run, up and through the ceiling...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

Thanks Ian, Funnily I had taken these pictures since posting earlier. I’m guessing that the exit pipe should be a straight line and not with right angled bends. we’ve lived in the house for 7 years and the issue has only just started in the last week or so. The pot that the pump sits on...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

Hi both, cheers for the responses. Ian, I’ve only topped it up once in about 18months, and even then it was only a very small amount. Chris, it seems to happen when the water and / or heating is being used. Aswell as when it’s not in use. We had the boiler serviced yesterday, and the...

    Condensate pump repeatedly activating

Hi all, after what started out as a crap start to the year in the house finally started to get back on track, before the latest adventure of ‘Money Pit’ Recently we’ve noticed that the Sauermann 1820 condensate pump from our gas central heating seems to be activating very regularly. From...

    House front stone removal

The rest of the house is covered in Pebbledash, its just this area, I imagine it has a breezeblock inner lining, and this is the external "for show" piece. I don't think its a thin cladding, I believe this section of the house is fronted with these stones. I'd rule external insulation out, as...

    House front stone removal

Hi all, Im hoping you can help me out. Im trying to identify the stone on the front of my house, and suggest any options that I have for removing / covering or just options. I dont beleive its cladding, as other houses in the street you can see the full stone in depth. The house has pebbledash...
