Hello all,
Just moved in to a new house and in the kitchen is an older fluorescent tube fitting (5ft, 58w).
The ballast in it appears to be on its way out (changed the tube and starter but it still takes a good few attempts to light then flickers when on).
It's currently wired as follows...
If it's not multiroom and you don't use PPV or interactive, leave it unplugged, if you do use these then run a cable under the edge of the carpet (or quadrant/edge of skirting if for some bizarre reason you have laminate flooring in your lounge)?
How are you getting the sat signal from where...
Just better editing. The BBC aren't even showing F1 in HD :(
Your HD ready TV is just that, HD ready. You'll need to feed it a HD source to benefit from it (Sky HD/Freesat/Freeview HD/blu-ray/games consoles etc etc)
A couple of years ago we went for a squeezebox (as we already had 4 others around the house at that point) and a set of AE aego m 2.1 speakers. The sub is under a kitchen floor cabinet and the satellites are wall mounted either side of a large archway to our back doors.
Cables all chased in...
I'll third that, they're all we use at work and I have 2 1500's in my rack at home and a 2200 stand alone unit (which was used for running a boiler for an hour during a power cut when it was freezing :D).
Not the cheapest, but if you can get one second hand you can get a reasonable price. (I...
I'd go for option one, much tidier - no cable going from a plug in to the wall and you're keeping your power and signal cables seperate.
But as stated, probably use a FCU with flex outlet rather than a single socket behind the TV - all depends how much room your wall mount provides (if you've...
Well spotted.
I was going to suggest that the wrong type of light was being used as it seems they're just trying to light a spot on the ground rather than flood an area, and someone didn't bother to remove the switch when doing the decorating.
Nope, same one (infact, "freesat" and "sky" pick up the same signals for each channel, it's the box and card that handle it differently - i.e. allow you to watch it or not)
