Should I worry about dumping a bathroom suite?

Our local Hospice Charity Shop also has a furniture depot - I took our 'old' bathroom suite there, and they were pleased to have it to sell - it'll raise some money for them, save being in a land-fill, and someone with an even older suite will have an inexpensive refurbished bathroom. Nobody...

    How to block soil pipe

Thanks all - I think I'll use ALL your suggestions - put the rubber bung in the bottom of the pipe (lean down through the manhole - I can just reach), then squirt some foam down the pipe from indoors, followed by some water to make it go off. Then the post-mix concrete and water.

    How to block soil pipe

I have knocked our downstairs bathroom and kitchen into one. (Don't worry, I have a new upstairs bathroom!) The soil pipe from the old loo goes vertically down through the floor, and then bends to meet the drain outside - I can raise a manhole and see where it joins the drain. I've made a...

Kitchen wiring - cooker spur q

I can't give any power ratings, as I haven't bought an oven yet - hence my question Your post seems to suggest there aren't any 'standards' or 'norms' for built in domestic oven power ratings.

Kitchen wiring - dishwasher spur question

No - there isn't any socket currently there - I'm going to add both a socket ( preferably a double one) above the new counter, and one below for a dish-washer.

Kitchen wiring - dishwasher spur question

I'd like to put a socket under the worktop for the dish-washer, and know it's good practice for it to have a switch above in the form of a fused connection unit. I want a socket in the close vacinity of the switch for this spur, and was wondering whether a combined unit is available, or whether...

Kitchen wiring - cooker spur q

In my new kitchen I shall have an electric oven, a gas hob and a dish-washer. Looking at connecting up, I know that a 'cooker' needs a 45 amp radial circuit of its own, and that I could use a switch which also has a 13 amp socket built in. However, looking at installation guides for built in...
