I have done something very similar to you, worked in the corporate world and then re trained, one big piece of advice. LOOK LONG AND HARD AT THE COURSES AVAILABLE I paid for and attended a well established and well advertise course down south and it was rubbish, a complete waste of money...

You need to make sure the wall on to which you are tiling is flat or you will have trouble when it comes to tiling, If you are installing a shower i would advice you to tank the area or use aquapanel boards, these will make sure you do not get any problems in the future. On another...

I have just plastered over a artexed ceiling, i PVA'd it twice and then plastered it it looked fine when i left it but now it has dryed then a low points and some holes. Can anybody please tell me what i did wrong and what to do next time to get a better finish. Many thanks in advance...
