I know...... 50...... but when the builder redeveloped the house he put in all ceiling tungsten lights with each room having a min of 4, sometimes 6+ lights including the bathroom, en-suite and cloakroom!. The kitchen has 10 including these low powered ones! I am assuming they are fit for...

Actually my transformer is not "knackered" and works fine now i managed to change the fuse. Looks like moving to LEDS for these 4 lights is more trouble than its worth so i will look a LEDS for my other 50 lights around the house as these are not low powered. Again, thanks for all your advice.

OK so the black item is in fact a carrier and has a fuse in it. It took a lot more force than i expected to remove it. thanks for all those who helped and gave me direction

The black carrier looks like it is held in by screws and does not have a carrier as such. I would assume that they would design the unit to have easy access for users? I'll take another look Thanks

Thanks @ericmark for your help and sorry about the pictures as I though I was adding them to my posts , obviously not...... Not looking to replace the whole transformer, just the fuse as I think it has blown. So, is the black thingy at the top of the unit the fuse?

I have uploaded some more pictures. Assume the make is "massive"? Also, as all lights failed i assume it is the fuse? The label says "therm" which I assume is a special type of fuse? Is the fuse the black item sticking out of the top of the unit and held in by screws? Thanks

hi entirelyuseless, thanks for the input but this was painted only 3 or 4 years ago. Is it 'normal' for this to happen in such a short space of time? Is there any additional prep i need to do other than scraping/ smoothing the edges before painting, like some sort of sealant?

We purchased a renovated property a few years ago and part of it is painted with what i believe is Sandtex masonry paint on top of a very sandy base. Recently areas have started to bubble and peel off (image attached). Anyone got any ideas whats causing this to happen and how to rectify...
