Thanks mate, I will get one to take along with me. If that cures it then it will save a return visit to fit more bits. :D

    Stoves double oven

Before I got there, there was no ignition at all due to the snapped end of the ignition lead making direct contact with the backplate of the oven and therefore not creating a spark. Good contact on repair; wire was clean, new and correct terminal used and securely attached. Flame picture is...

    Stoves double oven

Got called out to a Stoves double gas oven that wouldn't light on christmas eve. Turned out to be a snapped ignition lead. I replaced the terminal and reconnected it to the electrode and the oven now lights. Only thing is, once the burner has ignited, the ignition electrode keeps sparking...

    Worcester 28cdi dripping

Right then, this thing is dripping from where teh plastic filling link goes into the diverter valve. I have replaced the o-ring twice and have just replaced the filling link (with a new 0-ring) and always the same story...dry as a bone for 2 days then it starts to drip again. I am at my wit's...

    Gas Pressure?

If it was installed by a CORGI installer who was qualified for fires, then he should have checked the gas pressure when he commisioned it and it should be fine. Pressure drop during peak times can happen. I don't touch flueless fires with a barge-pole though. :?

    Gas Installer

Nope, the thing in his hand is a PDA. The boiler has a diagnostic port that you can plug a PDA into and if you have the correct software, it will tell you what is wrong with it. You are right about the loft though...no fixed ladder, guard rail, boarding or dedicated lighting...ho-hum, and I...

    Debt collecting

I always give my customers a copy of my terms and conditions to read as soon as I get to a job. They sign it, I pop it in my briefcase. It has my rates on it also. They are signing to say that they agree the rates and the t&c's. I therefore legally have them by the balls if they dispute...

    Weekend Quotes

Hi Spice, I did read your post properly mate, you said that you HAVE to do your quotes at the weekends, especially in the winter months. You don't HAVE to do anything that you don't want to. I went to the 17 years in the Army charm school mate, the one that teaches you to get on with it...

    Valor Dream DFE

Hi all, I need to price some spares for one of these fires and would like to know if anyone can recommend a decent shop in the leatherhead area that sells fire spares. I have looked on the net but most don't deal in spares. Thanks.

    Weekend Quotes

If you don't mind too much, why whinge about it ffs ? organise your week more efficiently and do you quotes in the evening/at the end of the day. You choose to do them at the weekend. If I want to work the weekend, I will, if I don't, I just tell my customers that I don't work weekends...
