Sorry was I meant to power up with the peg on. checked for the click then took the peg off.

switch on the tamper spring definatley makes a clicking nose but the alarm doesnt go off when i press and release it??

Thanks, tamper spring in the keypad definately works, i take it i just pull the spring off?

Just decorated the house and the old RKP was yellow so replaced it. Powered down the system both the mains and disconnected the battery. Connected the new RKP, powered up and the tamper light is on contstantly and wont set. Checked the connections and they are in the same place as the old pad...

No they are on whatever way the switch is set. Everything on the RCD protected side are fine (sockets, cooker etc) and switch off no problem but lights aren't
