Saniflo Saniplus Up - bits of waste flowing back into the toilet after a few hours.

Cheers mate - so can I pull the elbow and NRV out together? Is it just a pushfit?.... then a small twist to detach the NRV from the elbow?

Saniflo Saniplus Up - bits of waste flowing back into the toilet after a few hours.

Cheers mate - I've run a few sinkfuls of warm water down but I'll go with the buckets at the weekend. If that fails I'll try pulling out the NRV.

Saniflo Saniplus Up - bits of waste flowing back into the toilet after a few hours.

I have a Saniflo Saniplus Up (about 5 years old). Now.... after a particularly big solid poo last weekend :LOL: it has been returning bits of 'solids' back into the pan. The toilet flushes properly and (makes the usual sounds) and looks clean, but after a few hours I'm seeing bits in the...

Gaps around exterior of old Victorian sash windows. Fill or not?

Thanks Blup. Does it not need to be breathable though? I stumbled across this - they recommend to use oakum https://www.heritage-house.org/stuff-about-old-buildings/windows/sealing-around-windows-and-doors.html

Gaps around exterior of old Victorian sash windows. Fill or not?

I noticed when painting the frames of the original sash windows that there are gaps around the outside of the frames (between the frame and the external brickwork). The gaps are only 2-3mm and don't let in any draught or wet. My first instinct was to run some kind of filler around but then I...

Sand, cement & lime mortar ratios for pointing 1880 terrace

Thank you. It does look rough & gritty - I was presuming that was lime. I'm not even sure what sort of sand or lime or cement to look far. Is it sharp sand / builders sand? Are there different types of lime or cement? It's not a massive area to repoint - Just the odd patch up really.

Sand, cement & lime mortar ratios for pointing 1880 terrace

Hello, I'm a complete novice about this but I'd like to do some bits of repointing on the wall of my terrace. I can remember (many years ago) a builder mixed sand, cement & lime for pointing another wall but I can't emember the ratio or how to mix it. I also have no idea what type of sand (I...

Leather couch. Have cleaned & rubbed off the colour

Yes, I saw some kits on Amazon & eBay but not sure what type would work.... I'm worried because with the dark brown shoe polish I tried, it didn't seem to 'hold' the colour, if that makes sense... It just wiped off.

Leather couch. Have cleaned & rubbed off the colour

it all started with a cup ring on the arm of the couch. I tried to clean it and the colour started rubbing off.... Next I got some brown shoe polish and this has made it even worse. I think there must be some sort of cleaning agent in the polish. Can anyone recommend a colour / dye / renovator?

Occasionally flooding cellar - Looking for a pump

Thanks guys - I didn't even think about a wet n dry vacuum. I've got an old orange Vax knocking around somewhere that might do the trick. Going to get a dehumidifier too just to help with tthe general dampness.

Occasionally flooding cellar - Looking for a pump

A these look like they sit quite high off the ground. I was wondering if there is anything that'll just sit on the floor (without the need to dig a sump). Water level is only usually 1-2 inches at worst.

Occasionally flooding cellar - Looking for a pump

Hope someone can help. My cellar (during very heavy rainstorms) leaks in with 1-2 inches of water on the floor. Doesn't really do any damage (it's an old victorian cellar - brick walls & quarry tiled floor) and we only store non-damp damageable stuff down there. Usually a mop & bucket does...

How do I avoid the stipple finish when rollering?

 There are some parts of my hallway where I tried a 7" emulsion brush some years ago - Looked even worse - Brushmarks all over the shop. Those Victorians must have had it down to a fine art.

How do I avoid the stipple finish when rollering?

Hmmm? Going to have to experiment with a few different rollers methinks.

How do I avoid the stipple finish when rollering?

Help. Every time I use a roller (emulsion onto walls) I end up with a slightly stippled effect all over. Always had the same problem - Am I doing something wrong? I'd love to achieve a relly flat finish. I'm using a standard emuslion with a 'woolly' kind of roller, but I seem to get the...
