Just by way of an update, I have had someone in and they have quoted £70-£80 for putting new boarding up so think I'm going to go with that.
Thanks for the help :-)
Kind of, this is at the very foot of the stairs, there are two of those lower ceilings and then the landing at the very top of the stairs.
Access is fine as it is the very bottom of the stairs, but I'd be a bit worried about taking a job like this on by myself. Do you know if there are any...
I'm really not sure what the grey stuff is, but it does move a little when pressed upwards but it isn't coming off as easy as the plaster was. This final picture is taken from the very bottom of the stairs looking up so the left is part of the kitchen wall and the patch with the grey is...
Hello :-)
Take what down? All of the white plaster or the grey stuff as well? :?

Good morning everyone,
Hope you can help me out here....
We live in an end terrace house which my partner bought a few years ago, and we are now trying to sort the house out and get it decorated etc.

Anyway, we are trying to sort out our house at the moment but as my OH lost his...
Thank you very much, then! All of you :-)
One last thing....no need to varnish over the top then? I'll be able to wipe down the Solo Satin without it taking the paint off? I'm a bit messy in the kitchen ya see
So what you're saying is it cracks? :? Can't tell if you're joking or not.
Please can someone advise what type of paint to use on kitchen cupboards, over a melanine primer?
Help!
Hi! Thanks for your reply :-)
I would just like to use something that looks good and will be ok for the kitchen - i.e. easy to wipe off grease, spills etc. without removing the paint.
Hello :-)
Hope someone can help a clueless person such as myself....
I'd like to paint my kitchen cupboards to give them a bit of a facelift (please don't suggest buying new doors as it's not an option!) but don't know whether I need to buy special cupboard paint as well as the primer...
