    honeywell galaxy g2-44

I inherited the system, however it is around 3-4 years old I'm led to believe. When I called out the company to check it all over etc they said they had tested the battery and it was fine. Just had to have to power shut down a couple of times recently and it then will not set.

    honeywell galaxy g2-44

I've got a honeywell panel and find it really annoying when the power is cut or lost. Is there a guide just for being able to set the alarm again. It's getting a bit tedious calling up the installer and having them go over it on the phone each time. I should have wrote it down the first...

    JCC downlights dying prematurely

What is the issue there exactly, obviously I'm not aware of how the house should be built in relation to regs etc. The house is in Scotland if that makes a difference

    JCC downlights dying prematurely

It's not the bulb that is failing, it's the light itself, for example I can take bulb that might appear to be dead in one downlighter and swap it with one working and it works fine. Are you saying lights like these should only last 2 years? The actual fittings, surely not I had the cheap...

    JCC downlights dying prematurely

Yes using exactly the ones they recommend, that's what the builder grumped about, people using wrong bulbs....just seems that they try to blame everything on anyone but themselves or the kit etc

    JCC downlights dying prematurely

That's another issue, the rear of our house seems to be notably colder than the front, I see block type insulation down the front when you climb across to the edge in the loft but at the rear none of that blocks. Even the rear walls are very cold to the touch, was thinking about cutting some...

    JCC downlights dying prematurely

Have had builders back in the past due to these downlights going off randomly, occasionally coming back on and many just dying completely. They came back on moaned about how people thought they were there to change their bulbs etc.... Then came back and said supplier knows they are faulty...

Extractor fans fitted correctly or not..with photos

They came back and changed the white flexi stuff on the centre pipe, is it the soil pipe? Where this runs down the inside of the house at the rear there is bad damp in the en suite, the idiots just painted over it, obviously it's came back with avangance. However the extractors have not...

Leak from Water tank, coming out Tundish...I think

Ok plumbing is not my thing at all, noticed staining to sitting room ceiling and it sagging slightly so thought bath or water tank, went upstairs and damage had been done, obviously had been quite a bit of water. We have a Heatrae Sadia Megaflo tank and the water had been overflowing from the...

Correct plumbing / trap required for dishwasher

Thanks for the clarification, there is no rubber seal inside the caps they gave me. The place I have been using is city plumbing but doubt will be going back. Where is best to buy one of the extendable waste hoses, I'm only looking to gain say half a metre maybe a tad more, just to come up...

Correct plumbing / trap required for dishwasher

Yes the cap did measure 1 1/4 but I thought I was getting a cap for the nozzle that had been cut as per photo, I even showed them the photo. Went back today before reading this reply got told if it was too big it would be 1/2 or 3/4 so just took both...asked if had plastic caps and answer was...

Correct plumbing / trap required for dishwasher

Thanks for the info. Just measured the cap he gave me, receipt says 1" but its bigger. Do you get plastic caps or only brass. Bear in mind your talking to a novice here when you say fit a new nozzle, you mean replace the cut off section with the same as the other side in the photo...

Correct plumbing / trap required for dishwasher

Does anyone know what exactly I need to ask for at the plumbers merchants to blank off that part that might be a problem. He gave me an inch brass cap but told him didn't think it was inch but he said it would be, obviously it isn't. I explained needed a longer supply hose that was ok, got...
