    Decking

Well thanks for the help everyone but it looks as if i have to build the deck as i originally planned because of the twelve inch clearance requirement. My mother is keen on the composite and i agree with her. Its not so much her age thats the problem but a disability she suffers. As for...

    Decking

Yes sorry you are right cleaning is obviously a part of maintenance but a small jetwash should do the job.

    Decking

Hi and many thanks for your replies. If i follow Deluks advice and use slabs to slightly elevate the joists (to combat damp i guess) then with joists at 2x6 and board at 25mm the total height will be 8 1/2 inches above existing patio height. However having just read the brochures from the...

    Hob,oven and extractor

By this i take it you mean to actually make all three switched spurs part of the kitchen socket circuit and therefore not really spurs but actually in the ring main. Am i okay to site these "spurs" and sockets on the opposite side of the wall to keep them out of view.

Again thanks anyway but the tiling will finish where most normal people...

    tiling on kitchen units

Thanks for confirming. A panel would add to the thickness and make the finish edge too proud of the unit edge. I think this is going to be more agg than needed. Tanks any way

    tiling on kitchen units

I am going to tile between wall cabinets and worktop for my mothers new kitchen but she wants to tile over the side panel of the larder unit to match the wall if you catch my drift. Is this advisable and are there any precautions i should take to prevent tile movement. What concerns me is the...

    Tiling over bitumen

I have Unibond ready mixed "tile on Concrete" adhesive and grout but the area i originally thought was concrete had a small area of vinyl tiles. I removed the tiles but this leaves a bitumen problem. The tub says not to tile over vinyl but has no reference to bitumen. A tiler (career...
