Bathroom mono block tap install confusion

Appreciate the comment but something just isn't right. The body is barely bigger than the shoe hole, so when I tighten it there is no way you can centre it, there is always a mm gap somewhere. Starting the think I’ve been given a duff tap

Bathroom mono block tap install confusion

So it’s right I just need to align the tap body and the shoe as it tightens up?

Bathroom mono block tap install confusion

Can someone tell me what I’m missing here or if the tap has got some wrong or missing component (see photos). Usually these kind of taps have the ‘shoe’ attached to the tap itself, the washer fits on the underside of this and then that is secured to the sink. In this tap the shoe is separate...

Extending and embedding mains pipes in wall

I suspect I have enough length on existing piping to put the join in the wall void I am leaving exposed, so that will work. Thanks a lot great advice.

Extending and embedding mains pipes in wall

I would be plastering and then tiles over the top. The pipes are embedded exactly like this in my other bathroom however it was done when originally built. Why should they not be embedded this seems a common occurrence?

Extending and embedding mains pipes in wall

As part of a bathroom refit I’m doing myself, I need to move hot/cold water pipes from coming out of the floor behind the sink pedestal, to being coming out of the wall about 18 inches up due to us installing a floating vanity unit so the pipes aren’t visible below. Pipes are 10mm plastic...

Fixing USB lamp - wiring help

My daughter has managed to break a USB lamp at the switch. I’ve can use a soldering iron so thought I’d have a go at a fix before scraping. The switch is 3 way, middle being off, left gives a cool white light, right gives a warm white. I’m not sure where the wires need to go on each side of...

How to remove this bath twist plug hole

Can someone tell me how I remove the plug hole section of this twist pop up waste please (see photo)? The mechanism has gone so need to replace it all, am comfortable with it apart from the plug hole, in other examples I’ve seen a screw or Allen key used but this is just round in the middle...

    Reassembling shower valve

After some more faffing about, I’ve come to the conclusion the valve is knackered and needs replacing. Seems as soon as the water pressure gets up, the valve comes apart. Shouldn’t need to set it in a certain position, should just be plug and play. Off to eBay to try and find a cheaper part !

    Reassembling shower valve

Can you please help me readable/ reseat this shower valve please (see photo’s), or at least explain how it works so I can try and figure it out myself. The shower type and valve are shown here. The mechanism has become stiff so took apart to add silicone grease. I’ve done this a few times...
