Advice on suitable painted finish for plywood wall section

Exactly my thinking thank you Notch7. Hidden behind the rad. This is a quick paint up of our kitchen, but the whole house is getting taken back to brick next year, as well as that particular wall being knocked down, so not super concerned with anything it may be hiding in the short term really...

Advice on suitable painted finish for plywood wall section

Dear all, I am refurbishing a kitchen wall which needed a fresh lick of paint, however when removing the radiator and stripping wallpaper, I noted the bottom section of the wall has been panelled with plywood (6mm or so) as you an see from the attached. I will eventually want the plywood to be...

Indeed the master only has some deadbolts towards the middle. By jammers do you mean wedges I mentioned above? Sorry not in with the lingo! :) Thanks again

    (Warped?) uPVC window repair advice

Thank you - this is exactly what had happened. It was a world of botched additions to the centre mullion with locks and other door furniture that was screwed through the mullion with wrong screw lengths pushing it apart from the slave door effectively. Have taken it all apart, angle grinded...

    Installing a hearth on a non-working fireplace

Thanks for your help guys - What I was looking at was a little detail around how you would install the actual hearth, as in, would you literally just sit it there under its own weight or would you dot and dab some mortar under it to keep it firm at all? Also, I guess it needs to be very much...

    Bouncy floor - fix?

That would be a good idea normally, but I was looking to sand the original floorboards, so that's gonna be a no I'm afraid. Do you think I can achieve a similar result by installing some bridging in between joists or should I not bother? Mind you, like you say the bouncing is not a huge bother...

    Bouncy floor - fix?

Thanks for your responses fellas. Full joist length/span is probably about 4 meters (I'll measure more precisely this evening) and I think joists are about 70mm wide with a pretty standard gap of around 400mm. Any idea how I can get around the bounce? At a bit of a loss to be honest! Thanks...

    Installing a hearth on a non-working fireplace

Morning all! I'm refurbishing a house (as you'll probably know due to my sheer presence on this forum as of late!) and I need to now source and install two hearths for two non working fireplaces (show-only, in the two upstrairs bedrooms). My question to you is - I've never done this before, do...

    Bouncy floor - fix?

Hi guys, Hope all is well :) I am refurbishing a property and one of the floors is quite bouncy on an upstairs room. I've already taken all carpets out and therefore managed to lift a few floorboards to see what the state of the joists is. The joists seem in good enough condition, although it...

Self leveling only a part of a concrete floor

Thanks newboy and princeofdarkness, Some really good advice. I think it will be a case of completely redoing the floor in due course, but that may mean having to wait a little longer than I originally intended, which is a slight annoyance. Anyway, thank you that gives me lots of thinking...
