Dual Fuel Oven - can only gas registered technicians service these now?

Single occupancy - we haven't rented it out yet - just preparing... I don't know why my wife got the 2nd hand one at £800 when for another £250ish I think... she could have had a brand new one??? As for providing the instructions with the cooker I asked that. It would have been so much more...

Dual Fuel Oven - can only gas registered technicians service these now?

OK thanks... And that is not quite what I meant - but I can see how you have interpreted what I said :D I run engine dyno test cells. I do not do any mains electricity or gas connection work - but I do make connections and install test equipement, fuel connections, test gas analyser lines etc -...

Dual Fuel Oven - can only gas registered technicians service these now?

OK - we have sourced a replacement cooker - similar dual fuel. Presumably same connections. I have contacted a company to do a 'landlord gas safety check' and asked if they can connect up the replacement oven whilst they are there. The receptionist says legally they cannot install the oven...

Dual Fuel Oven - can only gas registered technicians service these now?

I have a Diplomat Dual Fuel Range oven - DF1100aDL which is having electrical glitches. The Main Fan oven gets warm - but is about 40 degrees above the set temp, also is constantly warm (~40 deg C) unless the 'Auto' setting is engaged. The Grill temp controller 1-8 only works on full. I...

    Taking UK electricals to Canada?

Thanks guys - yes just looking at charging 18v battery drill hedge trimmers etc. We will probably get some voltage convertors anyway and I can use them for the battery charger units so that seems the best option. Only for DIY use so fairly low demand. Cheers

    Taking UK electricals to Canada?

Looking at visiting Canada for a couple of years... 110V 60Hz mains. Is it worth taking any UK electrical stuff? - I have asked a couple of manufacturers about power tool chargers for the batteries - the response so far is that I will need compatible chargers to be able to run the tools - not...

Crystalisation of preservative on deck boards?

I had something like this on some of my boards - I assumed it was something to do with the preservative reacting with the resin from the pine. - It occured more around areas with knots in...

to paint or not to paint decking

Decking Oil is what yer want! I am very impressed by the finish. I used 'Cuprinol Decking Oil and Protector' with Oak tint - it looks great. Best price I could find was screwfix ~ £30 for 5 litres. Enough for 2 coats on 6 x 5 deck. HTH
