Cooker hood/hob ignition from cooker socket

Thanks guys that clears that up then. It will be less than 500mm, just a bit tricky to get a short length of 6mm cable! Thanks again.

Cooker hood/hob ignition from cooker socket

Thanks for the reply. There is already a proper cooker connector unit, my apologies for incorrect terminology, I was calling it a bullnose. There is a FCU next to the CCU but it doesn't go anywhere after that, this is where I was planning on taking the feed for a socket to be placed next...

Cooker hood/hob ignition from cooker socket

Hi all, Have been reading for a while about this but just want to confirm that what I intend to do is legal and more importantly safe. I have a 45amp cooker switch and socket that runs from a 30amp fuse in my fusebox with 6mm cable, it then comes out the switch unit to behind the cooker...

converting 2 single sockets into a double socket

Everything is the same in this house. I understand spurs from spurs are against regulation, it's been like this since we moved in approx 15 years ago, and it was all installed probably around the 70's, at least the central heating timer is fused correctly. I'll leave it as a dual single...

converting 2 single sockets into a double socket

Hi all, In my kitchen I have 2 single sockets right next to each other in a dual back box, I always thought this was odd but having taken it off I understand now. Both sockets have a seperate feed and both have a spur, one goes to another double socket and the other goes to the central...

    Worktop Joint near sink...again.

I have managed to convince her that round the other way away from the join is the only sensible option.

    Worktop Joint near sink...again.

Sorry I didn't make that clear, it's the draining board in the corner. The sink itself is in the same place it always has been.

    Worktop Joint near sink...again.

Hi all, Having a new kitchen delivered on Wednesday and hopefully getting a joiner in on Friday to cut my worktops. However the other half insists we turn the sink around to what it is currently putting the draining board in the corner and this is throwing up a few problems like having to...

    Sandstone wall crumbling/pointing advice

Hello, I'm on the beg for some advice before getting anyone round to take a look here, we live in an old sandstone wall house with the loft being converted to a room some 20 years ago, before we moved in. Tonight I noticed on some of the bricks the "face" was loose and just crumbled away...
