    Downlight Wiring

Hi I've just had the floorboards up in a room which is above the kitchen that has downlights fitted. After looking at the wiring for the lights below, I just wanted to know if they've been fitted correctly or not. The lights are connected using connector blocks (like the attached pic), is this...

    Cleaning Wooden Floorboards

The main reason why I want to clear it is because suffers from asthma and he will be sleeping in that room. Since the skimming was done his asthma flared up and I assumed the excess dust, etc was the cause of this. You're right, lifting the floorboards probably is over the top, I was thinking...

Best Euro Cylinder and Patio Door Handle

Oops I didn't word it correctly, I meant it's a pity my old lock (I took it with me as they were replacing the door) doesn't fit the new door. I was planning on getting an Avocet ABS, but thought i'd ask in case something better was around now.

    Heating and Water for Outbuilding

Oh ok, I'll check the flow rate in the morning. I'm planning on having some work done on the outbuilding soon (new roof and changing the position of the bathroom) so could get the underfloor heating done then. Do you not recommend electric underfloor heating?

Best Euro Cylinder and Patio Door Handle

Hi I'm changing the locks on my doors and wanted to know what is the best/most secure euro cylinder available. At my old place, I used to have an Avocet ABS which I was told was really good (it's a pity the sizing is different), would be a good idea to get the same again I need one for the...

    Heating and Water for Outbuilding

Thanks guys I think I'm going to go with underfloor heating instead of a radiator. I'm not sure what my mains cold water flow rate is, but there is a decent amount of pressure from the shower, would a 9Kw electric shower give the equivalent of shower powered by the combi boiler (let's say I...

    Heating and Water for Outbuilding

Thanks for your reply What would you recommend in this situation especially in terms of hot water? The outbuilding is only one room and a bathroom and in the house I have a gas hob, gas oven and 30kW boiler.

    Heating and Water for Outbuilding

It's approx 4.5m x 3.5m and around 10 metres away from the house. In terms of heating, I like the idea of underfloor heating so that could be an option.

    Heating and Water for Outbuilding

Hi I've got a large outbuilding in my garden and it has its own bathroom. I'm wanting to put hot water and heating in the outbuilding but not sure what the best approach would be. I was thinking of an electric water heater/electric shower but most of the ones I've seen have such slow flow...
