Hi

I'm changing the locks on my doors and wanted to know what is the best/most secure euro cylinder available.

At my old place, I used to have an Avocet ABS which I was told was really good (it's a pity the sizing is different), would be a good idea to get the same again

I need one for the front door and one for the sliding patio door.

I also need a handle for my sliding patio door, any recommendations of secure ones I should buy.

Thanks

I can't give you a specific recommendation, only to make sure that it's anti snap, and anti bump.

But just having looked at the Avocet, why can't you get the right size

Oops I didn't word it correctly, I meant it's a pity my old lock (I took it with me as they were replacing the door) doesn't fit the new door.

I was planning on getting an Avocet ABS, but thought i'd ask in case something better was around now.

As long as a lock is anti snap, and anti bump, that's the main thing to work from. Most thieves will try their luck, and then give up if they can't get in, as there's always an easier house not too far away.

Thanks for the replies

I just came across an Abloy Protec while searching online, any opinions on this, would anyone chose this over the ABS?

Abloy appear to specialise in fancy keys. Looks like they're anti-bump, but I don't see any mention of anti-snap or anti-drill.

Another vote for ABS from me.
There are only a few locks that get the 3 star security rating but I think ABS is the only one to also get a Diamond rating too
