Nest system CH working HW not....

No fault with microswitch just me being a complete idiot, when terminating 4 back into the nest link it looks like 5 and 6 went into wrong terminals (cupboard has no light and it was getting late in the evening poor excuses ha ha). It now works a treat CH and HW independently and together when...

Nest system CH working HW not....

CH works when HW is on, and HW works independently. Just need to find out why CH won't work on it's own (just the two port valve starts clicking/ticking -possibly this is faulty?) Looks like all the wiring is now correct but will check correct voltage in correct terminals when I dig out...

Nest system CH working HW not....

Turns out the clicking is coming from the 2 port valve (sounds very similar clicking noise to the Nest heat link). Does this give any other clues as to what might be going wrong for the CH?

Cable going to hear link port 4 (think it's SAT) had come out with all my fumbling around! HW is now working. When I pump heat up for CH above current temp the boiler doesn't kick in (heat link is clicking every one or so seconds if this is any clue?). I have it goes from terminal 2 on the...

My bad 3 is connected to 9 and nothing else. Can't seem to dig out my multimeter so when it gets light tomorrow I will. What conditions should be present where for when I locate my multimeter?

The programmer is now redundant as all have been disconnected behind it and also disconnected upstairs in control box. Will eventually remove it completely and put a blanking plate on it downstairs.

Nest system CH working HW not....

Cylinder is cold haven't had HW on today, links between 2 and 3 are in place. I will try dig my multimeter out of the shed. Checked all the wiring links as per the lid and there correct, there also extra links that were there prior to start these are from 3 to 12, 6 to 12, 9 to 3, 10 to 15 and...

Nest system CH working HW not....

Done everything as above, power at heat link. Set Nest for 30 minute boost HW, nothing happens (hear the Nest click in), same with CH set temp to 5 degrees above current thermostat temp hear Nest click but nothing happens. Double checked all wiring, even pushed L through from behind programmer...

Nest system CH working HW not....

Yes there was one going from terminal 8 but as this was from the programmer it has since been removed. I will link the L from behind programmer now up stairs and connect to terminal 11. Where would the L for the heat link be connected to? Also 11?

Nest system CH working HW not....

There's no permanent L from 11, there's a cable from there to a separate strip on the inside but this isn't connected to anything from there onwards. The only L I have is coming from 9 and 10 from the programmer downstairs (guessing I have to leave either CH or HW switched on at programmer and...

Thanks for confirming, so removing programmer wires (need to use the L and N from there to power heat link?) - Programmer is downstairs next to boiler see not in airing cupboard where hot water tank is. Then once removed I need to remove 2 and 3 that go to Thermostat and use them for T1 and T2...

Nest system CH working HW not....

Done as you said programmer wiring removed and wired as you advised. There is no wiring link between terminal 7 and 11 or 8 and 14 (only 8 to 7 and also 16). Reading the bottom of the diagram it seems that the wiring links are replicating a "biflo system", would this make any difference?

Nest system CH working HW not....

Yes the wiring is exactly the same as that diagram. I've removed the Thermostat cabling and re-used this for the 12v feed from the T1 and T2 from the heat link. To give the Nest heat link it's 240v I have used the feed from the programmer (worked with L in 9 (Htg on) with the programmer...

Nest system CH working HW not....

Hi, Hope someone can assist with my difficulties in wiring the Nest 3rd Gen Thermostat. I've managed to get the Nest installed in my existing thermostats place using the existing wiring wired into the Nest Heat link box. The heat link is powered up and plumbed in to the CH call and com, this...
