Window corner pieces missing that need replacing

Dear all, I hope you can help. During the bad weather I found that water had come through to the plaster inside the house and I think the only way it has come in is via the bottom of the window sill. When I look at both ends of the sill it has not been capped off and I think the water has come...

    Loose wall plug

Hi all - the grip hadn't gripped at all and wall plug still spun around. Took option b which was to take everything out of hole and filled it with match sticks, then screwed directly into it but this has not worked. I need a quick solution, should I have used the wall plug and then surrounded it...

    Loose wall plug

Many thanks for your replies. I have drilled into the brick as hole is quite deep, deep enough for a brown plug. I will leave it for a another hour or so and will then have a go.

    Loose wall plug

Hi all, I have a wall plug that is not gripping and I do not want to redrill as the existing hole / plaster is quite flaky. I have therefore taken the wall plug out and filled the hole with some B&Q own brand interior grab adhesive and then re-inserted the wall plug, I have left it for 5 hours...

    Damp patch in bathroom

Hi Woody - basically it is between the top of the wooden cabinet and the tile we have on the wall, it looks like a clear sealant that has been put down between the bottom of the tile and the top of the wood surface. I am assuming that the water is coming from behind as I cannot see where it...

    Damp patch in bathroom

Hi, I have noticed that there is some drops of water (damp) coming through the sealant onto a surface. It is only a very small amount and I was wondering how I can get rid of it? Could I reapply some sealant? I really don't want to remove the tile on the wall to see what is happening behind...

    Loose door hinges

Hi, Can anyone give me the name of a good product that I can use to fill some screw holes in my door where the hinges have come loose because the screws are no longer tight. I have heard that you can get a wood filler but I cannot anything at the moment. I have been advised to fill the holes...

    Replacement shower "seal"

I hope someone can point me in the rigth direction. We have a glass shower guard (curtain) and the seal at the bottom of it has got rotten and has come away thus letting water run out over the floor. Can you buy just a replacement seal to stick on the existing glass shower guard?

    Pacri Garage locks

I had fitted a Pacri garage bolt on our front and back gates with the long keys and unfortunately one of the long keys has snapped. We still have another one and I wondered if a normal key cutter would be able to cut such a long and quite thick key? Any thoughts etc would be greatly appreciated.

    Loose door hinges

Thanks Guys - sorry for basic questions but are timber dowels like wall plugs so that the screws will have something to grip into? Is this the same theory with the match sticks?

    Loose door hinges

Hi - Does anyone have a quick way of repairing loose door hinges? The screws are just turning in the hole with no grip and when hammered in they soon come loose again. Would longer screws be the best option? Would you need special wood screws? Many thanks.
