Advice on building fence in front of old wall.

We have a 2m high old tatty boundary wall running down the length of the garden, it's structurally sound but extremely tatty, various ages and sizes of bricks, half rendered, half not. It belong to the neighbours who refuse to do anything with it on our side, so only option we have is to build a...

Boiler overflow water, ok to feed plants with it?

Got the overflow from our combi over the conservatory so it runs into the conservatory gutter. We're wanting to attach a water butt to the conservatory downpipe but are unsure if the added boiler overflow water will be harmful to plants/garden etc

Sewer pipe under boundary, need to erect fence!

Sadly we have a 600mm sewer pipe right on the boundary between our house and next door. Previously there had been a tatty old hedge there. Me and my neighbour would like to erect a fence but are unsure of the best way to do it. The sewer is literally 30cm below ground level, it runs the...

Neighbours garage overhang in the way of my garage plans

it's a pitched roof, if you look at this pic(this isn't actually it but it representative) http://www.k-roofing.co.uk/images/barge_board_eves_gutter_01.jpg the brick wall is the boundary wall and the overhang you see there is the overhang on my land.

Neighbours garage overhang in the way of my garage plans

I am wanting to build a garage in the back garden and there only one place it can go. The problem is the neighbours garage which butts up to the boundary has an *huge* roof structure which overhangs my garden by at least a foot. If we were to build a garage we would have to considerably cut...

    Unaccessible isolation valves (under floor)

They're not leaking but the bathroom floor is tiled which means they'll never ever by any way of getting to them once the ceiling is plastered.

    Unaccessible isolation valves (under floor)

We're re-doing the kitchen and noticed the bathroom rad above has isolation valves on it in the ceiling void. It was only recently done. Seems like bad practice to me to have isolation valves completely unaccessible so should they be removed?

Since the weather got a little colder our cb28 keeps losing pressure, at least 2 times a day we have to top the pressure up in order to get hot water. Then when the heating is on, the pressure rising too high, up to 3 bar so water is coming out of the overflow. Any ideas what might be...

    Water based Gloss, any tips?

Been using some Dulux trade ecosure water based gloss. It's awful to use, dries far too quick, runs easily, shows every spec of dust, air bubbles, brush marks. Only good thing is that it's white. Given some primed MDF skirting 3 coats and it still looks transparent in places. Are they...
