Immersion Heater stiff / cannot remove!

Thanks for the tip, how long should you heat it for roughly? I have a mapro plus canister and blow torch and shall crack on tomorrow morning. That video was great as well. By the way the cylinder is copper, open vented. Top side element :)

Immersion Heater stiff / cannot remove!

I am trying to replace a top side immersion heater in my tank - the bottom one works fine at night but the element has gone on the top one. But I cannot get it to budge! I am strong as well and the immersion box spanner won't budge it. Any tips to remove a stubborn immersion? It doesn't look...

The hot water is fine but the heating is not working, this is what happens: the boiler starts and ignites and then the temperature display goes up to just over 70, and then the flame goes out and nothing happens for a long time, until it drops again and then...

Light and plug sockets not working

thanks for all of your help. I will this morning while it's fully light isolate, remove the socket, isolate the loose wires ends safely and test, I suspect this to be faulty. I will re-check the fridge freezer again as mentioned. I only checked it before by turning the switch on the spur...

Light and plug sockets not working

thanks andy, i tried that but the rcd tripped again shortly after. I do believe some water got near one of the low level plug sockets shortly before this first happened. It is dry now but could this still be causing it to trip?

Light and plug sockets not working

Hi, thanks for replying. There is a rcd similar to shown that supplies the extension and presumably the kitchen lights (dimmer switch) too. I have reset it but it tripped again a little while after. Is there anything likely to be causing this that i can check?

    Immersion heater timer query

I want to fit a timer to immersion - the timer says 13amp, but my immersion says 15amp as supplied by a MCB. The heater is 3kw, 240volt, newish in a direct part L compliant cylinder. Is this timer no good? It is from Toolstation and says for immersion heaters
