More of theses spots this morning. It was colder last night but again only on our front patio, not the back (which gets a lot more direct sunlight). Could it just be the end of the curing of the mortor as its only been down about 4 weeks? Its random slabs but more of them today and no real pattern.

Possibly. I've just been out and noticed it's kind of drying but leaving a white mark. Could be efflorescence (from my googling!)?

Hi, Just spotted this in my daughters bedroom. From a distance you cannot see it, but up close you can. Both walls are external and up close the color of the paint appears the same. The temp (to touch) doesn't change between the crack and other part of the wall, and it's dry, not wet to touch...

That's interesting, thank you. So probably what I'm seeing in the parts treated is them leaving hence the new frass. Hopefully they are leaving the garage and I'll treat all the 4 beams over winter.

I'm presuming it's single skined, built in the 70s I think. The gutter does drip a little on the outside which I should be able to fix, just where two parts join together. Inside the roof looks fine and only replaced 3 years ago. There was a leak, hence the roof change, so perhaps they got in...

Thanks. I've got some sheets and cardboard under where I think it's happening and will keep an eye and probably give them a good covering in the winter months ahead of next Spring when I think they become more active again.
