Hi - does anyone have any idea on the following ? I was renovating the bathroom and when doing so got an electric shower to put in an electric shower. An electrician installed the shower on 10mm wire, 40a rcbo, 45a switch and the shower is 9.5 kw. I have the work fully certified. The shower...

    Cable size

Thanks - realise it is done that way. I have used a spark before when I did my extension. He gave my a wiring diagram and specified the material etc to be used. I am going to use this spark again, but would like to do some research on the circuit first so I can ensure his design is ok.

Hi - I live in a 1960's house and I am justupgrading the plug sockets. The cable is still good (its PVC in black an red). noisy check valve

I have the valve in the correct way, I understood that the mixing takes places within the tap, in a modern tap, and that creates the risk of cold flowing up the hot. I guess I could fit a PRV to the cold and then take out the check valve?

    Pressure equalising valve

Hi guys - Has anyone used a PEV before to balance a thermostatic shower (hot is ravity fed - 0.7 bar, and cold is main - 3 bar). Are they noisy? Do you need check valves with them or is this built in? Apreciate advice. Cheers

    noisy check valve

Thanks Tony - so step one - I shall try another check valve. Unfortanely the whole house has unbalnced supplies as the cold is direct to every outlet.

    noisy check valve

Hi - I have just installed a mixer tap. The hot is feed by low pressure gravity system (head of 6m) and the cold from mains. Despite the pressure differences the tap works fine. However I was concerned about the cold running up the hot pipe so I fitted a single check valve. The issus is that...
