    Grass/Soil up against concrete fence.

Not the best picture, taken through the patio window. The gap is 5/6 inches in some places. A lot of the grass is just growing towards / over the gap. It’s worse than it seems. I did think of gravel. But wouldn’t grass against gravel look just as untidy after a while?

    Grass/Soil up against concrete fence.

The grass in our garden does not go right up against the concrete base of the fence, see image. The gap varies but makes it look untidy. Is there a gap for a reason? i.e. to stop moisture from the soils up against the concrete? Or can I fill it with soil and then seed over it? Or should I...

Will My Shelving Idea Support Weight

I have some plastic shelving at the moment, metal would be the same. I think making my own would make better use of the space. I can see pallets being good, but can’t be bothered with the effort of finding some. They seem to be very popular lol

Will My Shelving Idea Support Weight

I want to build some simple (and cheap) shelving for my garage. My plan is still use 38x63mm studwork timber as the legs. Then use 18x38mm timber on the horizontals. Then on top of these place 9mm mdf sheets, probably screwed down. The main concern is the horizontals being too thin, but this...

    Conservatory Costs

I am trying to find a rough cost of adding a conservatory to my house. Nothing fancy just a small one to add some space, maybe 3x2m. Looking online prices seem to vary wildly from a few grand to 20 plus grand. Can anyone give an idea or does it really vary so much that my only option is to...

    LED Light Flashing

New bulb did not fit, despite being (apparently) the right size. I will try get the voltage tested then see where to go from there.

    LED Light Flashing

Thanks for all the advice. I have just ordered one new bulb, not too much wasted if it doesn’t work. I’ll also try get hold of a voltage tester to see it measure at the fitting.

    LED Light Flashing

Yes I did. They don’t seem to be labelled with a specific end, but yes have tried both ways.

    LED Light Flashing

Yes it is when switched on. Usually they are fine for 10-15 minutes. I have had the covers off for a while now so that hasn’t helped. I may try some new bulbs then. At least that would hopefully rule out one potential issue.

    LED Light Flashing

The tubes are ones in the link below. All from Wickes. I originally had units with integrated tube but it didn’t come with the fixings to attach to ceiling. Needed something quick so got these. Maybe it would be easier to go back to integrated...

    LED Light Flashing

I will try and get better pictures. If it helps here is a link to the product. The white wire goes from one end/connection to the other. https://www.sylvania-lighting.com/product/en-int/products/0047925/

Both are LED batten fittings not converted fluorescent ones.

    LED Light Flashing

Sorry I thought the original post describes the issue well enough. When the lights are switched on they seem ok but after a while they start to flash. Both lights now do this and don’t really stop. If I then turn them off and leave them for a while it will be ok again for a while. But they are...

    LED Light Flashing

Sorry to dig up an old thread but due to various issues (COVID and redundancy) I have not had the time or money to get this sorted. I have had the wiring checked, not by a proper electrician, but someone who knows what they are doing. They found a loose wire which was tightened but the lights...
