    Wall mounting Chrome pipe

Hi, Hoping for some advice on wall mounting some chrome pipes. I've been doing some home renovations and replaced all my upstairs radiators and removed all my old radiators downstairs. This was due to going mostly open plan. Downstairs I've left a few inches of the copper pipes hanging down...

    Mount kitchen wall unit.

I used some adjustable wall unit brackets in the end with the supplied screws which were probably about the size suggested. I did replace the included brackets with a rail and probably doubled the numbers of screws. The cabinets were pretty heavy with nothing in and one is holding a microwave so...

    Mount kitchen wall unit.

Which brackets could I use that are height adjustable? I've not fitted a kitchen before. The units I took down had a french cleat type bracket. If I used this type I would have to lift the unit up and drop it onto the bracket leaving a cm gap or so at the top.

    Mount kitchen wall unit.

I'm currently fitting a kitchen with reclaimed in frame solid oak doors. The doors are standard 72cm but I want the cabinets to go to the ceiling. Unfortunately as my ceiling aren't very high a 90cm tall wall unit wouldn't give the clearance I want above my countertop. Because of this I've...

    Electric wiring passing behind sink.

I've asked a few questions recently as I'm in the process of renovating my kitchen. I'm moving a couple of sockets around in my kitchen but not adding to or extending the circuit. I was told by building control I can do this myself without the need of an electrician I have a socket under the...

How to fill around main copper water pipe

I have looked through it. That why I suggested making a channel and covering it. Think it shows what I mean in image g7.1b? The joints below floor level are soldered. The flooring will be laminate so removable if needed. So unless a good reason not to I will make a channel around the pipe and...

How to fill around main copper water pipe

If I were to fill and make a channel around the pipe and then bridge the pipe with ply or steel would that be ok?

How to fill around main copper water pipe

I've put some conduit around the pipe to provide some more protection. I just need to bury the pipe now. I was going to fill the hole with like for like with what is currently there but the only concern I have with this is that there will be a joint in the floor screed. Should I just bury...

    Electric cables in the wall.

I'm not planning on adding any extra sockets or cabling. I'm just going to put the cables in wall behind some protective channeling. I understand this won't provide much protection from drills or nails. Just doing this to keep things tidy and avoid damage when filling/ plastering. Just wanted...

    Electric cables in the wall.

As part of some home renovations I'm going to be putting the electrical cables in the wall. Some building work is going through building control but when I queried the electrics they said i was fine to move cables and boxes as long as I'm not adding to or extending the circuit. Having looked...

How to fill around main copper water pipe

I'm in the middle of doing so home renovation and needed to move the main water pipe coming into my kitchen. I had a plumber come and move the pipe but I now need to fill what has been dug up. He has taped it and said I will be fine just the screed over it but I should put a bed of sand...

    Remove wall under stairs.

I'm planning on using fire rated plaster board under stairs to save a bit of space and standard plasterboard elsewhere. I'll have some rockwool sound insulation left over when done with the walls and thought I might as well put it under the steps to try and reduce noise on the stairs. I don't...

    Remove wall under stairs.

So I've taken down the wall under the stairs and replaced with timber frame. No issues as yet. I haven't quite finished the framing but once done will be using sound insulation in the stud walls and the plaster boarding over. I'll be putting plasterboard under the stairs (to hide underside of...

Strengthen attic joists to support heavy items.

Span between gable wall is about 5.8m. I should be able to get some new joists up there. I was hoping to convert the attic properly in a few years but was just looking for a suitable temporary solution to store some tools. Which the existing setup would struggle with. I'll have building...
