Just a final one. On pressing down on some of the cracked areas on the wall does move a little. Wondering, should I be removing these loose bits (even if it creates a hole?)

Thanks foxhole. I’ve been monitoring it over the last month and now has grown to this. Do you think it’s worth monitoring yet further to see if continues to widen or simply go for the expansion joint now? Not sure what is the point of no return! Thanks

Hi. Doing a few repairs to some cracks in my external wall. Now that I’ve applied the filler I want to make the finish to match the existing wall (see picture). Any ideas on how to do? Could I do using a sponge to create the dash effect perhaps? Thanks

Basically the ties have sleeves on them to allow for both sides of the wall to move. Was inserted at numerous positions within the expansion. See pic

Thanks mate. To answer your q re how bad is it see the pic (pretty bad!). How would you smooth out the gouges - rough sandpaper, before filling? cheers for the help
