Hi. Hoping someone could give some advise please.

have a number of corners in my house showing cracks. My plan of action is to use fibre tape and then filler before painting. Does that sound correct for the cracks I’m seeing?

Also, around the bottom of my front door I’m seeing some gaps between the skirting board and the door. Wood filler to do the job?

    thanks, much appreciated!!

Use a polymer mastic for skirting as will flex better and can be painted over.

Yes to the taping over the cracks. Maybe dig out and bit. Seal with Pva. Fill and tape with toupret standard powder filler and sand smooth. Prime (optional) and paint

Just a final one. On pressing down on some of the cracked areas on the wall does move a little. Wondering, should I be removing these loose bits (even if it creates a hole?)

If it moves, then it's going to crack again. If you start pulling out big loose lumps, and cutting out recesses for scrim tape, you are going to be left with some big holes - so you must decide if your plastering and patching ability is going to give you an invisible repair. Otherwise it may look worse than before.

As regards to the very first picture, around the bottom of the door area, decorators caulk should fill the gaps without too much cracking. You will have to remove any loose sealant etc that is likely to be there.
