I've reposted this in the Building channel but don't know how to delete this thread - can a mod delete if they see this please.

Sealing and Stabilising Composite Stone Sills.

Hi, posted this in another thread but I think it was the wrong place so trying here. My house has composite (I think that's what it's called e.g. they are cast rather than solid stone) stone lintels and sills on all the windows. The ones at the front get a battering from the weather and have...

Sealing and Stabilising Corroding Composite Stone Sills

Hi, if this is in wrong forum please move to correct one. My house has composite (I think that's what it's called e.g. they are cast rather than solid stone) stone lintels and sills on all the windows. The ones at the front get a battering from the weather and have corroded in places but...

    RCD Random Tripping Issues

Unfortunately it's a split load CU so the bus bar doesn't go all the way across.

    RCD Random Tripping Issues

So I'm going the whole hog and replacing all the RCD protected MCBs with RCBOs. I then need to remove the main RCD shown above "RCD Controlled Circuits" in the picture above. Can I just replace this RCD with a 100A Isolator Switch the same as the main Isolator?

    RCD Random Tripping Issues

Bloody thing's tripped twice tonight, hardly anything on! Very frustrating.

    RCD Random Tripping Issues

Assume the Hager ADA332G would do the job? I should have said too - all the circuits/MCBs to the left of the RCD in the pic are protected by the main RCD.

Pics as follows. It's the RCD above "RCD Controlled Circuits" that keeps tripping. IMG_20200805_154859 by Jazzhands posted 5 Aug 2020 at 3:56 PMIMG_20200805_154805 by Jazzhands posted 5 Aug 2020 at 3:56 PM

    RCD Random Tripping Issues

Hi guys, I am having issues with random RCD tripping that I can't isolate for the life of me. It can be as random as tripping once a fortnight to 3-4 times a day. No time pattern, during the day, evening, middle of the night, when out of the house. Can be when very little load on (middle of...

    Radiator fitting - pipework challenges

Thanks oldbuffer, having looked at the job again and your suggestions it looks like it will have to be option 3 extending 40mm each way to keep it symmetrical. I think I should be able to obscure most of the pipework under the rad so it hopefully won't show too much. Not the ideal visually but...

    Radiator fitting - pipework challenges

Hi, I have bought a new radiator for one of the rooms in my house but the closest match I could get size wise is 80mm wider than the original (wife wanted an oval tube rad to match ones in other rooms). The issue I have is that the 10mm copper tails don't have enough movement in them to move...
