    Electric panel heater help

Yes, i know - that the kw for a panel heater or fan heater costs the same. My question is not so much now about cost but heating efficiency. For example a 3.3kw heater must heat up the area quicker than a 2kw heater, no? And panel heater versus fan heater? Since this is a temporary measure, fan...

    Electric panel heater help

Thanks for the comments. Fixing the house is certainly a bigger job than a bit of insulation. In order to make this house more energy efficient it would need serious work to find all the leaks. I was here when the builders were making the original insulation bats (to the exterior - before the...

    Electric panel heater help

Hi All, basically I live in Estonia, I have oil fried central heating, but oil has somewhat doubled in price since last year so the minimum order of 1500 litres which heats my house for 4 to 5 months of the year is now almost €1500. I am currently selling my house (or trying at least) so it...

    install ceiling fan light

I have a multimeter but aside from using it to test if there are live wires, I'm not sure how to test what wire is what. I read on the internet that the live feed should connect to the black wire in the fan, the white wire to the neutral and the blue wire to the switched live - but that's my...

    install ceiling fan light

Ok, what joker? I have better things to do with my time than put fake enqiries on a forum thanks.. - not a friendly bunch. I do live in Estonia, but there is little point to me putting this in electrics outside of the Uk simply because I have used this forum before and very few post a response...

    install ceiling fan light

I have a ceiling fan light (it didn't come with instructions etc) It has a white, black and blue wire and I wish to have the light work from the switch (not the pull cord) and the fan from the pull cord. Problem is that to the existing light which will be replaced there is only a live (brown)...

    3 Pirs activating lighting

Hi Steve, This makes sense. Will give this a go. thanks.

    3 Pirs activating lighting

So basically twin & E wire from the switch to the first PIR and then continuing on to the 2nd and then 3rd. And from each PIR the twin & E wire straight to the first light. That's a lot of wires to the first light (3 cables from the PIRS and 1 to the next light in the series).

    3 Pirs activating lighting

There is one project I have (a houseboat) where the client wants 3 separate 360 degree PIRS to operate a circuit of 30w indoor lighting through out the living area. I can't talk them out of it, this is what they want unfortunately (too lazy for simple switches I guess). The idea is that one...
