Replacing kitchen light switch (think it's double pole)

Hi again @Taylortwocities. So I just received my DP switch. I was hoping for a straight swap out but this is labelled completely differently than the previous switch. Do you have any suggestions for how I might port IN1, IN2, OUT1, OUT2 over to N, L Load, DP N, Supply L please? Many thanks

Replacing kitchen light switch (think it's double pole)

Excellent, thanks so much for your help and suggestions. I can't for the life of me see what else is being switched so I've just bought a matching DP switch so I don't go breaking anything. Thanks again!

Replacing kitchen light switch (think it's double pole)

Thanks for your reply. Here's a picture if that's helpful (very tricky to get a good angle behind there!). Is it safe to swap a double pole for single pole in some instances? I'm trying to work out why it would have been double pole in the first place so not sure if I'm missing something.

Replacing kitchen light switch (think it's double pole)

Hi all. I've got a 3 gang modular light switch in my kitchen and one of the switches has broken. Unfortunately they don't sell the modules anymore so I need to replace all 3. It seems that the existing switches are as follows: 2x 2-way and one double pole. The 2x 2-way make sense (even though...

What type of fixing for wardrobe shelf?

Thanks for the suggestion. What's wrong with hitting the stud the existing shelf is fitted to? Would your suggestion of legs not mean the top shelf would slide back and forth easily? Or would you still screw the legs into the wall, but the fixings aren't actually holding any load?

What type of fixing for wardrobe shelf?

    It's plasterboard on metal studs.

What type of fixing for wardrobe shelf?

Hi all. I have a built in wardrobe that has a shelf with a large space above it. I'd like to match this with another shelf above. I believe I need to use 18mm white melamine but I'm not sure what kind of fixings to use. This is going to be screwed into plasterboard and I know I'll need...

Thermostat case too small for backbox

Oh that’s exactly what I’m after. Didn’t know that was what it was called. Thanks very much!

Thermostat case too small for backbox

Hello all. I'm replacing my thermostat with a temperature sensor casing. There are two issues with it: 1. The holes on the back of the new casing don't align with the two screws of the backbox. 2. The sensor casing seems slightly too small for the backbox/hole in the wall which means the edges...

    Underfloor Heating Control with Relay

Excellent, will do. Thanks for your help working through this!

    Underfloor Heating Control with Relay

Oh I see. thanks for pointing that out. So my relay can handle loads up to 5A 250V AC or 5A 30V DC. The UH8DS-SB wiring diagram only mentions 230V AC supply. The existing thermostat that was connected lists the following: Input: 230VAC 50/60Hz Output: 230VAC 3A MAX Given that that thermostat...

    Underfloor Heating Control with Relay

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I checked and the relay is rated for 250V and the coil voltage is low dc from the Raspberry Pi. Thanks for your help!

    Underfloor Heating Control with Relay

Ah sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear in my post. I've also used the old thermostat wiring to connect a temperature sensor in the room which is then connected to the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi then runs a program to turn the relay on when heat is required. I just tried to keep my description...

    Underfloor Heating Control with Relay

Hello all. I have underfloor heating installed in my flat which is controlled by an Ambiente UH8DS-SB (https://ambienteufh.co.uk/app/uploads/2019/03/UH8DS-SB-Wiring-Diagram.pdf). I'm trying to build my own smart thermostat with a Raspberry Pi for fun and so have given myself one of the zones to...
