Morning all. I have a cabinet for an integrated fridge freezer which has a shelf that the fridge sits on. We’ve just replaced the old fridge and during installation the chipboard shelf broke.

I don’t think I can just replace the shelf because it’s the kind of shelf that gets installed when building the cabinet.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to replace the shelf please? I’m thinking I need to build a box so the fridge can sit on top, but conscious that it’ll need to hold the weight of a fridge.

(Annoyingly I could have just ditched the shelf completely and bought a bigger fridge, but that's not an option because we already have the replacement fridge)

What's the gap between the base shelf and the broken shelf?
Could you just slide a couple of lengths of 4x2 under at the sides, and rest the shelf on that?

Thanks both, much appreciated. I'm going to try the batten approach sat on the cabinet floor.
