    Floor tiling advice

My soil pipe outlet is about 180mm from the back wall. The soil stack is in the corner to the right of the toilet. The soil pipe connects to the soil stack under the concrete floor then goes outside to the drain. Currently we have an old low level cistern toilet, but was planning on putting in...

    Floor tiling advice

If he cuts the soil pipe hub off at floor level how would you re-position the waste outlet when it’s set in concrete? I’ve got an issue with mine that the outlet is too far from the wall.

    Level Threshold patio

I wrapped the the perf pipe in geo textile fabric with washed gravel and backfilled more gravel. I also fitted some DPM between the house/garage wall and the gravel. Obviously it is not finished yet, but it’ll have to now go on hold till next year. Thanks for all your help and advice. I...

    Level Threshold patio

Here’s a load of photos of my project so far, if anyone’s interested! I dug out a channel between the house/garage and planned patio area and built a small restraining wall with breeze blocks to support the slabs. The channel is graded towards the surface water drain down the side of the...

    Sleeper planter bench

Thanks for your replies. I have fitted some leftover damp proof membrane around the internal sides of the planter boxes so the sleepers aren’t in contact with wet soil. There is nothing on the bottoms - just the existing clay soil underneath. So far I have placed some large stones/rubble in...

    Sleeper planter bench

Hi I’ve built a sleeper planter bench and I’m wondering how best to fill the planters. I’ve currently got a mound of clay soil/rubble etc which I dug up before laying my patio and I was thinking of dumping some of it back into my planter boxes before putting a good layer of top soil on top. I...

    Level Threshold patio

Yeah, that’s what I thought. If I had French/gravel drain leaving a gap away from the wall and threshold drains at the doors, I’m just not sure how I’d fit threshold drains coz they would be directly above said French/gravel drain! Cheers

    Level Threshold patio

Patio level with threshold, therefore level with DPC. Which means not conforming to 150mm below DPC (which apparently is best practice , ie best case scenario) (or 75mm at worst - but bending the rules and still being ok’d) Again, which is ok where there’s doors (part M building regs - disabled...

    Level Threshold patio

The “at least” was just a figure of speech, if that’s what you’re confused about?

    Level Threshold patio

At least LESS than 75mm! Ie not conforming to minimum 75mm below DPC! 150mm best case, but 75mm at worst!!!!!!

    Level Threshold patio

I don’t understand, why is the rest of the surface lower? I’m saying the patio will be level with threshold, therefore level with DPC or just below DPC! Here are some examples of what I mean: The threshold/step/channel drains are just in front of the doors to create level threshold...

    Level Threshold patio

Hi, guys. I know there’re several topics already about this, but I still can’t get my head around it! I’ve seen several drainage channels (threshold drain/threshold interceptor/step drain/brick slot drain) which allow for a level threshold between inside floor and patio to comply with Part M...

Hi, NHW. What did you do in the end? Have you got any photos? I’ve got exactly the same problem with our extension. Cheers
