Replace kitchen sink strainer waste - but old one seized

Hi all, Trying to replace my second strainer (half bowl) waste in the kitchen after doing the first one successfully. However, this one has seized to the extent the strainer is loose in the bowl and just rotates around. Is there a special tool to stick on top of the larger slotted middle nut...

Electrolux Dishwasher ESI 602 X tripping

Thanks so much for confirming my thoughts. I'll order a new element online if I can find it. Just thinking as you mentioned the thermostat - could it be this that is not working, hence the element is over-heating and blowing the RCD? I appreciate your help

Electrolux Dishwasher ESI 602 X tripping

Hi I have an Electrolux ESI 602 X (Prod No 911841061, Type 911N82-2F) which has just started tripping the kitchen circuit RCD - this seems to be when it finishes washing the dishes, and is heating them. I think that the heating element seems to be heating up more than usual before it trips...

Electrolux WashMach - soap disp leak and spins in wash cycle

Checked that the magnet was indeed in place, but noticed that it was a little loose. Tightened it finger tight. After putting everything back together again I thought I'd run the machine, and amazingly, I seem to have fixed it. I'm really surprised that the difference of a tight magnet to a...

Electrolux WashMach - soap disp leak and spins in wash cycle

Right. Got to motor. Can anyone tell me what the magnet looks like? I've take the tacho cap off and am looking inside onto the shaft. I can see a white plastic internal bit, with a ring shaped bit of metal around it. Is the ring the magnet? if so, it is firmly in place (as was the...

Electrolux WashMach - soap disp leak and spins in wash cycle

Nope, user manual is rubbish, believe me I've already looked! Anyway, machine is now out. Only snag is that the back section wraps around the machine, so not easy to remove. Thanks for your help so far....think I'll leave it till tomorrow now.

Where is the emergency drain hose located? I've had a root around and can't see/feel anything.

Electrolux WashMach - soap disp leak and spins in wash cycle

Thanks, I guess this means pulling out the whole thing then. Stupid question - there sounds like there is still some water left in the machine. I've obviously had it on a drain cycle before I worked on it. I've checked the fluff filter and no water comes out - is there a lower drain point I...

Electrolux WashMach - soap disp leak and spins in wash cycle

Dear zipper, thanks for your help. As it is a built in appliance, I was going to pull it out and go through the back. However, having undone the front inspection cover I can see (and reach) the tacho on the motor. I took a picture just incase I am barking up the wrong tree. A little...

Electrolux WashMach - soap disp leak and spins in wash cycle

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas. I've a reoccurring problem with my washing machine. My Electrolux EW1000 I keeps trying to spin right at the beginning of the wash cycle, after it takes the water in (not during), which is causing water pressure to build up and to flood up...

Smelly oil leak in Heatslave 12/14 from fuel pump

Hi Everyone. Noticed my boiler (heatslave 12/14) was getting a little smelly and making my whole kitchen smell of oil. Just taken the front off, and found a small leak in the fuel pump. Seems to be coming from the Cartridge filter and dripping down into the internal casing. The flow at the...

Replacing circuit breakers in a domestic fuse box.

Thank you to everybody who has posted advice. The sockets dried out fine overnight, I put them back together (replaced the fuse just incase) and the circuit all works fine now, with power to the boiler. Now I just have to get the boiler fixed! Thanks, jmh

Filling Loop problem and water leaks! HELP please..

I've been considering a MagnaClean filter - are they really as good as the publicity suggests. Do I still need to Power Flush the system first, or will the Magna Clean filter suck it all out? Thanks,

Filling Loop problem and water leaks! HELP please..

And the sytem is pretty bad - I've had 3 (or 4 - I can't remember) new heat exchangers due to crap in the system. I think it definately needs a good flush out. Think it is all sitting in the bottom of the radiators as they seem to be colder at the bottom than the top.
