play / tolerance in 110mm waste fittings - tweak gradient possible?

Hello I am moving my upstairs bathroom and intend on having the 110mm waste pipe running parallel with the joists to the existing soil stack (where I will insert a new branch). The length of new run is just under 5m (so quite long). This is within BR here. The available angles from the...

    Masonry column between openings

Hi Noseall, thanks for showing an interest, Yes that's it, essentially making the masonry in-between taller. I agree that if hypothetically one lintel spanned both windows then the return would provide some stability, but in this instance the lintels both bear on the column in-between the openings.

Alpha Boilers weather compensation and controls

New UPVC Window Frames , Defective?

Just a slither off the ribbing then. Would be a good thing for the manufacturer to improve for future sales. 3 ribbing sit on the cill so that's six 'ramps' to shave off each window. Good thought re extenders. Thanks again all. I'll give one a go tomorrow

New UPVC Window Frames , Defective?

Thanks all for coming back so quickly and for all the really good info. Just to clarify that the gap I am referring to is not the frame protruding out beyond the upper level of the cill ( I can appreciate this is designed for the drainage) but the gap that is formed as a result of these little...

New UPVC Window Frames , Defective?

Hi all, would be very grateful for your thoughts please. I have just acquired some PVC double glazed windows (Deceuininck Heritage 2800 profile) that I am going to install. I was just about to attach the cill when I realised that the ends of the bottom frame extrusion 'ramp-up' a little. (see...

Seals in old boilers and POC analysis

Hi all. Just to advise that the second Engineer is not of the view that the boiler is scrap but has advised that a new case seal is required. Hopefully all sorted next week. Is it normal for two different Engineers to have such different outcomes? Is it necessary for me to have the first...
