Yes as above seal the worktop with clear silicone first. Would be able to offer advice on fittings if you took a picture of the pipework under your sink, without that, it's just a guess.

Why don't you just set the timer on the front of the boiler to turn the heating on and off at the desired times?

You don't need to turn the power to the boiler on and off to control the heating

It's the openable part of the window, not the start of the fixed pane.

Hmmmm... Well of course the socket may need moving. I don't have a tape measure to hand but looks like more than 300mm from that openable window... other than that?
