Paving slabs as base for garden room

Do you mean on top of the current paving? would that not damage it? What about my shutters and pour idea? Would that work if I used a few inches of concrete and rebar laid on a DPM so that it could all be taken away in future?

Paving slabs as base for garden room

The floor panels are laid on a membrane (and are quite thick - the name of the company is a clue!). It's physical stability that I'm concerned with.

Paving slabs as base for garden room

I want to build a small garden room, one of these: https://www.insulatedpanelstore.co.uk/flat-pack-garden-room-kit-1-piccolo As it's made of large panels with tght tolerences, the base needs to be square and level. The spot I have for it is on a raised patio laid with York stone slabs. It's...

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

Yes, I've considered the bigger sink solution. No, it's my own place, been getting round to it for a few years now!

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

There are some very rotten bits, especially around the sink. I've considered filling, but it's going to look really terrible, I'd like to get rid of the black stuff. Interesting about the sink. You're probably right, most inset ones have a wider brim to allow for sealing.

    Get scratched easily, wouldn't it?

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

Probably easier if I post a picture - this is what I'm dealing with. Really, just trying to do something that will make it a bit more tolerable for a year or two while I save for a new kitchen. The plan was to rout an apperture about 8mm deep in the red shape, and drop an appropriately cut tile...

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

Interesting! I'll look into it but sounds expensive for a basic bodge up

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

Just about, if I do the rear edge with a small trim router I have my eye on (Katsu)

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

Interesting stuff - not much more expensive than a tile @ 6mm, which would be a perfect depth to recess in. I'm now wondering if this might be better managed by pouring an opaque epoxy resin into the recess.

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

I see. What if I made the cuts with the tile already in place so that it was supported? Alternatively, can you suggest another material that I could do this with?

    Inset tile to wooden worktop

I have a ruined wooded worktop where water from the sink has rotted the wood. As a short term bodge I am thinking of insetting a single 1200x600 tile, which would fit perfecty. The idea would be to use a router to create a tight fitting recess such that the tile lies flush with the rest of the...

Inset sink with drainer on top of worktop

Interesting idea... I'm better at cutting wood but it's worth looking at. I wondered if it might not work due to a gradient on the drainer, are they flat?

Inset sink with drainer on top of worktop

I need to replace a single bowl sink with no drainer for one with a drainer on each side (because the wood has been water damaged beyond repair). I don't have much worktop so if I do a full cutout, there won't be much left to support the sink. My possibly daft idea is to cut a channel in the...
