    Tile adhesive or deywall adhesive?

Thanks @23vc. I think the grab adhesive is ok if the walls are flat, however they recommend tile adhesive with mechanical fixings if the walls are a little uneven.

    Tile adhesive or deywall adhesive?

Thanks @bennymultifinish .. I think even with the tile adhesive I’m meant to also use mechanical fixings... so you also think the drywall adhesive is ok to help level the wall.

    Tile adhesive or deywall adhesive?

I have some hardie backer boards to be installed onto a breeze block wall and then tiled. The hardie board website says to use tile adhesive to level uneven walls when installing the boards... do you think I can use drywall adhesive instead as I have some left over?

    Cold flat roof

I have a small cold flat roof. It has plenty of ventilation, followed by PIR insulation, followed by a vapour barrier. There is still a fair amount of space between the vapour barrier and the plasterboard below. Can I just pack this with extra insulation? I'm only asking because i read that...

    Liquid screed

I've had liquid screed floors poured on top of a DPM. I am going to tile on top of the screed. Because the door thresholds were higher than the rest of the floor levels, the screed around the thresholds was so shallow that it's already come away. Therefore the door thresholds are now a few...

Fixing stud frame to 40mm screed floor

I have a liquid screed floor. Approx 40mm thick. Beneath that is the insulation > DPM > concrete slab. I therefore only have a 40mm screed to fix my studworks sole plate to. Is this enough? If not what would be a good work around?

Can you use wall plugs with concrete screws?

But what is a standard screw?.. I’m not sure how the frame fixings I’ve bought are anything different other than size to a wood screw and wall plug... edit... just read rylers post... that’s how they’re different!

Can you use wall plugs with concrete screws?

Thanks for your response, Ive bought some frame fixings. I don’t really understand the difference, seems to be a screw with a wall plug!, but it seems to be the most suitable thing.

Can you use wall plugs with concrete screws?

Very good point!... My only argument was that they were designed to screw into masonry, however a wood screw is designed to be screwed into wood!.. so I guess that answers my question and it’s ok to use a wall plugs with masonry screws!

Can you use wall plugs with concrete screws?

Haha true. But when screwing into old breeze block it seems to grip far better with a wall plug. I’m sure that’s not the case for brick or concrete blocks.
