Hi all, any advice would be very much appreciated. I have moved in to a new house that has a stand alone concrete built garage. I am trying to convert this into a gym, however after a night of rain I notice that there are a few wet patches inside, it seems that when the soil gets wet, water...

    wallpaper adhesive for edges

Hi, Over the weekend I put up some medium weight wall paper in the bathroom. I used solvite wallpaper adhesive (powder mixed with water). Two days later and some of the edges are peeling back. I am wondering if there is a stronger/more sticky adhesive I can use specifically for the edges...

Anderton 3 in 1 Damp Lining paper

One firm did the vandex (which went on the wall under the plaster) and the same firm did injection. A different firm did the plastering, and used a waterproof mix when i mentioned the issues with damp. I think the problem is the age of the property, built in around 1850, all the houses in the...

Anderton 3 in 1 Damp Lining paper

We had DPC injection and also vandex treatment on the walls. The plaster we used had some waterproof mixture added (can't remember exactly what it was that was mixed in). This was all over 12 months ago. The anderton paper is foil backed, it has 3 layers of stuff, one which included the foil...

Anderton 3 in 1 Damp Lining paper

Has any one used this before on their walls? We have a bit of damp coming through on our kitchen wall and despite the wall having been treated, the damp is staining the wall paper. Apparently this 3 in 1 lining paper can help, but my concern is that the damp will need to go somewhere, and...

    Asbestos in outhouse

We have an old out house in our back garden, we are looking at having it removed for the summer and extending the back garden. We've been told there is asbestos in the roof, is it worth getting a specialist to knock down the out house or can we do it ourselves and just wear masks?

    Problem sealing bathtub

Hi all, I have a problem sealing my bath tub. Basically the problem is that the gap between the tiles and the tub is too big, normal sealant isn't working as the gap is too wide. I bought some white sealant tape from b and q but it wouldn't stick to either surface and ended up coming away...
