Just had a quote to repair the boiler - £340 to supply and replace plate heat exchanger, £108 to supply and install inline filter for the HW and £220 to supply and install a magna clean filter for the CH.
Seems to me it would better to swap the boiler out for a new one?
Ok Ive had someone look at the boiler and its probably the HE scaled up, as the boiler was functioning correctly. So it would seem I need to replace the HE (or clean it) and get an inline filter.
Ok - I am obviously a novice and have just realised that HE = heat exchanger, Im pretty sure this is ok as the boiler is only 3 years old. I checked the service manual, and couldnt see any mention of thermistor - does it have another name and how do you check the operation or do just replace...
Can any one suggest a reason why my Remeha comby cannot supply hot water at the correct temp anymore - its seems to try and goes luke warm. The central heating works fine!!
