    Combi & showers

All sorted! Thanks for your help. I do have mains pressure on the upstairs cold so that's a bonus. I have spoken to the heating engineer who I trust, so I can now cancel npower's team and go with the trusty one So am now a very happy bunny :P

    Combi & showers

...next daft question.... Presumably my cold water goes from the mains direct to the water tanks, where it then goes to the boiler, to the hot water tank, to the shower. The "technical survey guy" wants to drill a hole through to the downstairs loo, to pick up a cold water feed. Presumably...

    Combi & showers

Thank you. I will have a chat with npower. I have a gas heating engineer I have used many times before and would trust him, I know he does do this scheme, but don't know whether npower would let him/me if they only use certain firms. If, as seems likely my cold water runs through the loft...

    Combi & showers

hmmmmm I think I'm with you..... My mains comes up in the kitchen and the boiler is in the garage - not a direct route. Presumably this means it will be a major job to upgrade to a high pressure system off the mains? May be I need to stick to the system I have and put pumps on the...

    Combi & showers

Hi Just had a chap round to do a "technical survey" as I qualify for the boiler replacement scheme. Unfortunately he was like a whirling dervish in and out in 7 mins! He filled in lots of paperwork - I had to sign, but haven't got a copy. I am going from hw tank to a combi and he has told me...

Help please....thermostatic shower turned to a dribble

Yes it was ok til this morning. I've only lived here 3 months, so assuming it was okay before then. If I do change it I was thinking of going for a Grohe 34154 or something, although I haven't got as far as looking at mains and combi compatibility. Kath

Help please....thermostatic shower turned to a dribble

Thanks John Just tested it again, there is def hot and cold water coming through, it's the force of it that's wrong. It just changed this morning mid shower. If you need any other pics just let me know and I''ll have a go. Can't get behind the wall, due to tiling and can't access it from...

Help please....thermostatic shower turned to a dribble

Thanks John Other taps in the house are running ok, so it must be the cartridge. I will look at the Showerdoc to see whats what. May be just best buying a new one, rather than trying to repair it - I don't really like B&Q bathroom fittings - don't even ask about the sink plug lol...

Help please....thermostatic shower turned to a dribble

Hi This morning my thermostatic bar mixer shower (poss from B&Q - it came with the house) turned from it's regular flow to a dribble, mid shower. I think it is around 4 years old. Is it fixable, or should I just change it for a Grohe (had one at the last house - marvellous)? I have a hot...

De Dietrich oven light stays on and fan not working

My 5 year old DeDietrich double oven pyroclean (don't spose that makes a dirfference but just in case) seems to have thrown a wobbly. The Yorkshire Puds didn't rise, so....after turning the oven off, the bulb wouldn't go out. I found a little stick thing, size of a matchstick on the oven had...

Recalled Wylex RCD faulty?? Trouble with oven

Just looking at the test sheets, not sure of the technical bit of info you need, there are only the oven/hob and downstairs sockets (not kitchen) and upstairs lights on the affected RCD. The "functional testing RCD time" is lights 26ms sockets 27ms and oven/hob 26ms. If this is the figure you...
