    Front Garden Drive Conversion issues

Very surprised it takes that long, but no idea how efficient your local council is. Suggest you get a grab truck to just dump a few tons of MOT1 to give you that level area then angle it downwards

    Front Garden Drive Conversion issues

Apply to get the kerb dropped now. Hopefully they will allow the whole width of the path to be dipped which will make your life easier. Don’t any more building up, etc until you know the finished level of the path as anything before that is potentially waste of time. Feels like you might need...

What have you been doing today?

Strange to blur your own face, and leave what is an arguably more private photo of your other half sleeping un-blurred. Looks very much AI generated anyway...

    Building on sand

Sorry, missed this before. Yes my house is piled, was built in 78. The ground around us looks likes yours does - everything must be piled round here because BC say so.

What have you been doing today?

Yeah, lots of people going full beans and breaking their cars. Quite a few people that rent their race cars as well so they can use and abuse them and the just give the keys back at the end of the weekend…they pay a pretty penny to do that too!

What have you been doing today?

Went racing for the first time this weekend. Very steep learning curve, especially as I’ve had hardly any time in the car. Annoyingly in the video I picked 5th rather than 3rd going up the hill which killed the pace and let a couple of people through. Ended up with a DNF in this race as I...

    Building on sand

My plot is on sand dunes with a couple of foot of soil on top. I piled my garage. Yes it cost more; but it’s less likely to fall down. I suppose it’s whether your willing to risk all the expense of the above ground materials and labour for the build on a potentially unsuitable foundation.

why is loss of freedom of movement in eu seen as a big deal

You quoted me when I was talking about FOM and that it was a shame that we have lost the ease of movement we once enjoyed. You said there were plenty of ways to live, work abroad. Then you tried to make a point about visa. Clearly visa have more friction than FOM. I’ve called you out on it...

why is loss of freedom of movement in eu seen as a big deal

Clearly not everyone can, and it’s certainly not as easy as before. You’re not a stupid person, so please stop being ignorant.

why is loss of freedom of movement in eu seen as a big deal

I've not been disingenuous in any way - I provided a clear example and the source of my research as the benefit of FOM for the ease of living, working and retiring in the EU. Whereas you can only cite specific examples, all of which have barriers to entry and thus not universal to British...

why is loss of freedom of movement in eu seen as a big deal

Yes, there’s merit in your view, but that’s was freedom of movement allowed and it’s disingenuous of MBK to suggest that the current provisions are just as easy (or sometimes better) than FOM, when the fact is that some people wouldn’t now qualify. I might be totally wrong on this, but didn’t...

why is loss of freedom of movement in eu seen as a big deal

Don’t want to be the forum police here, and while I agree with the premise that Brexit has been terribly damaging to the UK in many ways, there’s no need to throw in the digs Noseall - you’re better than than mate.

why is loss of freedom of movement in eu seen as a big deal

That is definitely not easier than having an EU passport. Thought you were better than that too MBK, but seems his place is just turning into a trolling zone. Here, from ChatGPT, is a summary of what you now need to do to retire in the EU. CLEARLY not as easy as having freedom of movement...
