But where are you really from? Lady-in-waiting has resigned.

I had someone visit my office this week for the USA who had an unusual surname which I asked him to repeat so I could ensure I pronounced it correctly. I asked him where the origins of his surname, turns out his family originated from Albania. It was just a bit of small talk with someone I...

    Question about your main vehicle

It was a good deal due to salary sacrifice scheme / tax benefit but with increasing electric costs, it’s...

Slow going - my double storey extension build

Ok, so driveway / patios part 2. So to get started we laid an aco drain against the house across the garage and the main section of the house, which was embedded in concrete. These were connected to the main rainwater drain rather than soakaways, as there wasn’t space at the front for a...

Hey all, Back with another update. Summer 2022 was project driveway (and side patios) to start getting the outside of the house looking respectable, and taking advantage of the nice weather to do the exterior jobs! Although this plan seemed like a great idea, but after ordering all the good to...

    neighbours noisy plumbing

If it’s a frequently she uses her taps as you suggest, it won’t take long for a plumber to hear it. £280 seems like a small price to pay to get external validation if it’s affecting you as much as you claim.

    neighbours noisy plumbing

This is not going to help your cause...you need to do what EH require (i.e. a proper log) if you expect any help. There are plenty of other sound recording devices, and even independent companies that can can act like EH to provide you with monitoring tools. You could ask for a plumber to...

Any solar experts or folks that have solar installed on here?

Thanks. I have no idea how to use the website in that link  Where did you buy your kit from? I’m quite happy to self install and get a spark to connect it up.

Any solar experts or folks that have solar installed on here?

We have an electric car and I work from home 2 days a week. Also have a marine fish tank which eats electric all day so I think I may benefit from it more than others. I’m thinking batteries might offer a bit of resilience in light of potential outages.

Any solar experts or folks that have solar installed on here?

My local council has arranged a tendering process for solar panels and batteries for interested folks with a view to getting some bulk buying discounts. I’m skeptical that such schemes actually save much, but I really don’t know. Here’s my quote, £7.2k for 12 panels installed, and a further...

Garage in Conservation Area - Principal Elevation

If your new garage door would be facing the road then it would not be allowed because the driveway isn’t big enough for a car…but I assume your garage door will face the house and use the existing driveway
