Hi
Hope someone can offer some advice before I call out a professional to look at this for me. Basically we notice when the washing machine empties we get a really terrible smell and the smaller of the dual sink fills up with grey water (not particularly filthy, just looks like used washing...
I told the guy what I'd be using it for and he said it would be fine but I'd need to treat it myself. I was looking at this:

Do you still think it'sd a no-go. I'd obviously like to use PT but stuck with what I have now :/
Hi,
I've ordered some 3x2 from a timber yard local to ours and unfortunately it's not pre-treated. It's going to be used for decking joists and noggins.
I'm just wondering what the best sort of treatment is for this? Standard wood preservative or alternative. Looking for cheapest solution...
Hi
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion. I haven't actually started the framework yet, I'm ordering the wood tomorrow for Thursday delivery.

The decking lengths I've been looking at...

I dug a channel out and have begun to dig a soakaway in the corner of the garden and am down...
Hi
Whenever I turn my hot tap on quickly (downstairs or upstairs), I get a massive banging noise from the pipes and they start to vibrate close to the combi boiler.
I have been told it could be water hammer, I have no idea what this is but it it relatively easy/inexpensive to cure?
Thanks
Okay thanks
I can pick one up pretty easy but are there any schematics or engineering diagrams as I'd rather just wait if theres a high chance of me killing it.
Hi
This is my first post and I really hope to fix this problem myself with the help of all you guys.
So here goes:
The problem first started about two weeks ago - I turned off the central heating/hot water completely for a period of about two days and it hasn't been able to get started...
