They weren’t concerned about them at all hence just leaving them. Looks like the wall was taken out there in about 2015 as I found it for sale in 2014 with just a normal doorway there.
This is the wall down the middle of the house so fully internal. The house has a trussed roof where the beams would run at a right angle to this wall so I guess this wall would be supporting them in the middle. Photo is taken from kitchen/diner into living room which was just a huge opening...
Hi all,
Just been to view another house after the last one fell through due to cracks in the exterior walls and was presented with this? Time to run a mile again or not so sinister? It’s a bungalow and this wall runs long ways along the house in line with the ridge.
Thanks
We are close to buying this house, survey done etc, however we went back for another look and I spotted the crack in the picture below (surprised the surveyor missed it). Been back in touch with him and he has been back and isn’t concerned by it however I know these things seldom get any better...
They are definitely combined. I’ve had the manhole cover off and poured water down both and also the rainwater drain at the front of the house. Odd I know.
I considered that but I think it would mean going down the side of the house window first to get the fall which means the conservatory...
Hi all,
Our conservatory has always just had the downpipe draining onto the lawn next to it (was done before we moved in, built about 20 years ago) and I know this isn’t ideal but it hasn’t caused any noticeable issues so far.
We are just about at the point where we are going to do the garden...
we have been so polite about it, given him the benefit of the doubt, paid him immediately etc and he won’t come back and look at it, he is adamant all his work is 100% and that we need to address the issues with the bricks unfortunately.
Same tile profiles as original. We have been in dialogue with the roofer (pleasantly given the situation) and he is adamant it is not his workmanship and is refusing to do anything further about it.
Looks like another tradesman I’m going to have to take to court then although the original roof had a cover flashing and still leaked in the same places.
Have had a leak at the abutment join with the neighbours for some time now. We are stepped down from them and it appears the issue has existed for quite some time as plenty of bodges to try and fix it have been found.
We decided to get a new roof eventually as it was looking tired anyway but...
