Thanks for that. The shower mixer appears to be a push fit device to (plastic) pipe stubs in the wall. Are these standard and could I fit a different unit to the same stubs; anyone ? Indeed any recommendations ? Rgds, Andy

From an enthusiastic DIY'er - I'm guessing that you're going to be using ceramic tiles ? When I've done this before I've used ply; sealing with non waterproof PVA (so that the water in the tile adhesive does not immediately leach away into the wood but still bonds) and then laid the tiles...
