    New Worcester boiler pump noise

I moved into a new home with a Worcester Bosch 24 system boiler and the constantly variable droning of the pump is, as you say, annoying. Often described as the Ford Cortina of boilers, I can’t say that it is anything other than efficient. That said, the Atag in my previous home was whisper...

    Two heating zones and Tado

Sorry to hijack an old thread but my question is related to the above post. I have moved into a new property which has a WB system boiler and a WB unvented cylinder. CH is controlled by two ESI wired controls connected to 2 separate zone valves, and HW timing is controlled by a separate ESI...

    Boiler Warranties

Transferability: the manufacturer of my boiler has confirmed in writing that the warranty is on the boiler and not limited to any particular homeowner. I have passed that on to the buyer’s solicitor in good faith. Answering questions about the boiler etc was easy. You should have seen the page...

    Boiler Warranties

How about playing the ball rather than attacking the poster. My point was that what is stated on the boiler manufacturer’s website warranty page differs from what is stated in the terms and conditions. I am not suggesting that £45 plus VAT is unreasonable for a service but I am not sure that...

    Boiler Warranties

I had a new boiler installed last year which came with a 10 year parts and labour warranty. We have just sold our house and clearly the buyer's solicitor wanted to make sure that the servicing conditions had been met and that the warranty was transferrable. What I found concerning was that the...

Unvented Cylinder - HW to Thermostatic Shower Problem

Update: This has taken me longer to resolve than I first thought. My initial problem was finding a G3 qualified engineer. I eventually found two firms in my area. One firm carried out an on-site survey and based on their observations of water flow etc, the conclusion was that the problem was...

Unvented Cylinder - HW to Thermostatic Shower Problem

All fair points but I suspect that hasn't happened. New build etc, 16 years ago. The original plumbers also omitted to put in any isolation valves for the taps, showers and basins. I am happy to get a G3 engineer in to service the unvented side and see what happens after that has been done.

Unvented Cylinder - HW to Thermostatic Shower Problem

That is difficult to tell with the shower but I would say that the basin hot tap in the ensuite (same room) has a slightly lower flow rate than the cold tap. This hasn't been an issue with the shower until recently.

Unvented Cylinder - HW to Thermostatic Shower Problem

No - the tunidish is always dry; i.e., no evidence of a discharge. On first using the shower, the shower flow is always high suggesting that the air gap is charged. It then falls away, and I suspect that this is on the HW side. The HW shower elbow is always hot to the touch. I should add that I...

Unvented Cylinder - HW to Thermostatic Shower Problem

At the outset let me say that I am not looking for self help advice: this is clearly a job for a professional. I have a 250L OSO 20RD unvented cylinder. It has been installed for 15 years. It serves two Bristan thermostatic showers which recently have started to run cold. There is no pressure...

    HR92 Calibration Needed?

I have had Evohome installed for nearly 3 years on 19 radiators using Lifestyle RT212 bodies with the plastic adapters. No issues whatsoever, and the TRV bodies are 16 years old. I check them each summer but it shouldn't be necessary as the system will cycle them once a week. Honeywell Valencia...
