Hi all - I thought I'd feedback after replacing the Osmavent 110 in the loft with like for like (good reviews, 10 year guarantee). Smelly drains - advice please

Thank you so much Andy will give that a try Is there a brand you would recommend replacing it with? The osmadrain has a 10yr warranty and good reviews online. We would prefer not to get a hole in roof to vent to the outside and just ensure the AAV is working as this is only a recent problem.

House is cold - why? (split off from other thread)

Thanks Doggit that makes sense. When you say 'old' TRVs being wax based are water based ones very recent e.g. last few years? The house is 8 years old. How can I tell which I have? We are thinking of changing the floor later this year as it is damaged, so I will be able to find out if there's...

House is cold - why? (split off from other thread)

Hi sorry for late reply as I was away and didn't get a notification of response for some reason via e-mail. Thank you to everyone for your helpful reponses @JohnD: We live in a 3 storey townhouse. Temperature differential is at least 5 degrees from ground floor to top floor and more than that...

House is cold - why? (split off from other thread)

Hi - I am in a similar situation. 8 year old townhouse built by a well known house builder but not without its problems with corner cutting that I am discovering as second owner. Our house is freezing despite large radiators that should be sufficient and having them balanced. There is a lot of...

    Viessmann Vitodens WB1B Fd fault

I was told that the standard is 230v minus 6% plus 10% typical tolerance. As we were outside of this range UK power networks investigated. When going above that sensitive resistors etc can begin to fail if not designed to cope with higher voltages. I'm now hoping everything will be ok!

    Viessmann Vitodens WB1B Fd fault

Update for the benefit of the group: We had Viessmann change another main board in the boiler and British Gas out again.. Viessmann noticed that the voltage input was too high at 256v.. this rose to 257.5v when BG were out.. It turned out that we have been having excessive voltage...

    Viessmann Vitodens WB1B Fd fault

Sorry I used the word message when I meant a signal to be specific that PCB would interpret... 2 x 2 port valves. One is honeywell and not sure of the other brand from memory. One has been recently changed. I can hear them opening and shutting on demand when I set...

    Viessmann Vitodens WB1B Fd fault

Nope, the 2 engineers from Viessmann never changed the temperature sensors. it is on my prod list to ask them to do! To clarify how they work, for my understanding, are they within the boiler measuring the temp of the water in the heat exchanger(s)? So if they are beyond 100 deg C (correctly...
