It may not be the heat exchanger, they leak spontaneously from several different places, and the pressure gauges are hopeless. This is the worst boiler produced recently. It will give you nothing but trouble. Replace it as soon as possible.

With the fire OFF and the pilot OFF, have a hoover round the tubes etc where the pilot is. Theres a hole about 3mm diameter in one of the tubes, which can get blocked with fluff.

A search on " divertor " won't get many hits.

You have probably got Thermostatic Rad valves to have a "setting 2". They won't come on if it is warm enough already. You may or may not HAVE a diverter valve. How can you expect answer unless you specify system?

A pump will not be suitable with a combination tank. The Header usually empties faster than it is filled. You need a double check valve on the cold supply to the bath mixer and a single check valve on the hot, double if it is pumped. In other words forget the whole idea of supplying a mixer...

Of course you can wipe a joint an a lead waste connection, but there's no point going to copper. These come in all sizes. Size 1 1/2" (straight cooupling, same size both ends) will fit bigdek's lead and 40mm.
