White wired one is open circuit so is the faulty one. 240V is present accross both sets of terminals, Pete

Having tested solenoids it is no longer the gas valve we require but a solenoid coil - anyone got one lurking in their spares somewhere? Lyn x

Have just checked the coil resistance on the two solenoids: one measures 2.72 k and the other one no reading. have you got another solenoid coil? Lyn / Pete

Everything else appears to be working, the boiler tries to fire up when we increase the stat temperature, pilot light working etc. Our plumber says it was either going to be the control unit or the gas valve, but we have checked the control unit (hubby an electrician), and plumber says it must...
