Hi, I did forget to mention that the corrosion is the chrome plating lifting off. I thought about trying it with a high impedance meter just to see if there was anything going on, which is when I found the 0.5V. The house is 30 years old, with a new consumer unit a year ago. It did it before...

I did that that to begin with and got another tap from the supplier... same thing happened. The other same tap in the main bathroom has not had the same issue. Plus the voltage thing confuses me.

Hi, I've now got a second tap in the cloakroom sink that has corroded, yet another tap of the same style elsewhere in the house is okay. I've been able to measure 0.5V between the tap and the house earth (plug socket). Any ideas as to what's going on? Cheers, M

That's more like it Pete. So is a straight weld they way it's meant to me done? I see the current style ones all seem to have an adaptor boss first, but the ID of the boss is much bigger...

Hi, I'd like to pup a new connection into the soil stack, see attached photo to show the location circled in red. The diameter of that boss is ~44mm yet I want to connect a 40mm solvent pipe to it (43mm OD). I've been looking for boss adaptors, but these would all be the wrong sizes, can I...

Is that the earth connection to the box?

I will post a shot tomorrow morning... Virgin Media is down for the whole area at the moment (Portsmouth) so I'll have to do it at work.
